BREWSTER, Mass. - The Hartford Men's Golf team traveled to the commonwealth to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship. The tournament spanned over Saturday and Sunday with two rounds taking place for each day, the Hawks would take home first place out of 22 teams. 

Rapid Recap:

• Freshmen Shawn Amari (Townsend, Mass.) and Zack MacMillan (Toronto, Ontario) would both place third overall with Amari shooting a 72 (E) in round one, and a 75 (+3) in round two. MacMillan would shoot a 74 (+2) and a 73 (+1) consecutively.
• Freshman Griffin Lalonde (Montclair, N.J.) finished in 18th place shooting a 79 (+7) in the first round and a 73 (+1) in the second.
• Freshman Tim Kaley (Dalton, Mass.) would finish in 26th place shooting a 76 (+4) on Saturday and a 78 (+6) on Sunday.
• Rounding out the scoring, freshman Manolo Vargas (Medellin, Colombia) finished in 49th place, shooting a 77 (+5) in the first round and a 82 (+10) in the second.
• Sophomore Ethan Archibald (Heath, Texas) would place 8th overall as an independent for Hartford, shooting a 76 (+4) in round one and a 73 (+1) in round two. 

Inside the Numbers:

• Hartford finished with 32 birdies over both rounds.
• The Hawks would narrow out Western New England for first place by only two strokes (+22 to +24)
• Western New England's Derek Johnson would come away with overall first place shooting even par over both rounds.

Up Next:
The Hawks will travel back ot Massachusetts on Monday, as they compete in the Holy Cross Crusader Invitational which will take place over Monday, Oct 18th- Tuesday, Oct. 19th.
