WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford men's soccer team dropped a Conference of New England (CNE) game on Saturday losing to Gordon College 1-0.
Rapid Recap:
- The Scots and Hawks battled in the first half with 1 combined shot in the opening 45 minutes. The shot from Gordon came in the 11th minute as Cortez Cardone had a shot stopped by sophomore Cristian Vitti (Stamford, Conn.).
- In the second half the game picked up as Gordon had a first shot 41 seconds into the half going high. In the 65th Santiago Hernandez had a huge shot that Vitti punched over the bar. In the 72nd minute the Scots took the lead as Luke Lindas beat Vitti to give the visitors the lead. Hartford had a huge chance in the 89th minute as sophomore Jared Noble's (Nesconset, N.Y.) shot was saved by Riley Calemmo as the Scots would win 1-0.
Inside the Numbers:
- Vitti made four saves in net for Hartford in the loss as his record hits 1-3-0.
- The Scots out shot Hartford 7-1 with a 5-1 on target differential. The Hawks had a corner kick advantage of 6-4.
