WEST HARTFORD, CONN. The Hawks would play host to conference opponent Gordon College on Saturday, where they would come out on top 81-50.

Rapid Recap:

  • The Hawks would get things started early, as they would begin in a full-court pressure look against the Fighting Scots. Which would result in a multitude of turnovers for Gordon, and sold offensive possessions for Hartford, as they would jump to an early 13-2 run. Junior Kendall Rieman (Chicago, Ill) and junior Taryn Blevins (St. Louis, Mo.) would have their hands in several of the Hawks defensive possessions. Junior Ella Marchesani (Saddle Brook, N.J.) would knock down some triples to end the first quarter, as Hartford would finish the first quarter with a 28-12 lead.
  • Hartford would continue to extend their lead into the second quarter, as freshman Allie Shenloogian (Park Ridge, N.J.) would hit a midrange jumper to open things off. Junior Lauren Sabia (Simsbury, Conn.) would start to get involved with a putback layup and a three-pointer in back to back possessions. The Hawks would spark a 7-0 run, capped off by an and one from junior Ava Naszimento (Secaucus, N.J.)  inside. The Hawks would go into halftime with a 49-26 advantage.

  • The third quarter would continue to see the Hawks expand on their lead, as Naszimento would continue to own the paint, knocking down back to back layups down low, defense from Rieman would continue as she would notch a steal, that would result in a wide open three for Marchesani, as the Hawk lead would continue to grow, as they would end the quarter up 65-34.

  • In the fourth the Hawks would continue to not allow for things to get close as they would not allow for Gordon to bring themselves into this game.
