WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hartford Hawks split their fourth straight series for the second time this season, as they held off the Suffolk Rams 3-2 in game one, and lost 8-2 in game two.
Rapid Recap Game 1 (W, 3-2):
- Hartford would open the scoring in the bottom of the third, after junior Gia Miccio (Bellmore, N.Y.), grounded out, allowing sophomore Alexis Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) to score from third. Senior Olivia Wolk (Sugarloaf, Pa.) would hit a triple to break the single-season record. However, the Hawks would be unable to get her to score.
- Hartford would extend their lead in the fourth, after sophomore Bridget Bernard (North Andover, Mass.) grounded out to score freshman Liv Shulman (Pasadena, Md). Sealey would later double into right center field to not only break the single-season double record, but also score senior Sarah Serrano (Windsor, Conn.) from second.
- In the sixth inning, sophomore Adelie Beebe (Sacramento, Calif.) opened the inning with a walk. After being replaced by junior Taylor Fitch (Andover, Conn.) as a pinch runner, Bernard would also draw a walk to get runners on first and second. Serrano would get a bunt single, as Fitch was thrown out at home. Serrano was then thrown out trying to advance to second, and Bernard was thrown out trying to score as Suffolk pulled off the triple play.
- The Rams put some pressure on in the top of the seventh, as they scored twice after an RBI single. The Hawks would manage to hold out though, as they secured the 3-2 victory.
In the Circle:
- Sealey threw six scoreless innings, only giving up three hits, and recording one punch out. Sophomore Gracie Hopkins (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) came in to close the game, but after loading the bases while giving up two runs, Sealey returned to the circle to get the final two outs.
At the Plate:
- Sealey finished the game going 2-3 with doubles and an RBI. Miccio also had an RBI as she went 1-3, as Serano and junior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.) both finished the game with a pair of hits.
Rapid Recap Game 2 (L, 8-2):
- The Rams opened the scoring in the top of the first with a three-run homer. After a quiet second inning, Suffolk extended the lead with four runs in the third, with all four of the runs being a product of Hartford errors.
- Olivia Wolk put the Hawks on the board with a sacrifice fly to score sophomore Alexis Sealey in the bottom of the third inning.
- After senior Azya Walker (Oak Forest, Ill.) reached on an error, Gia Miccio singled to center, and a Wolk walk, the Hawks had bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth. However, freshman Ella Zobel (Clarence, N.Y.) would ground out, keeping the score unchanged.
- The Rams would extend their lead in the sixth inning after an RBI double.
- Zobel would single to center, scoring Walker in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. However, Hartford would be unable to capitalize any further, as they fell to Suffolk 8-2.
In the Circle:
- Junior Carly Mayhood (Newton, N.J.) fell to 7-7 on the season. Through 2.2 innings she allowed seven runs (three earned), ten hits, no walks, with three strikeouts. Ella Zobel would get the remaining 13 outs for the Hawks, as she recorded one earned run on four hits, no walks, with five punchouts.

The Hawks will visit Endicott College on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 12 pm.
