BEVERLY, Mass. - The Hartford Hawks split against Endicott College this Sunday evening with a first game win and second game loss. The Hawks took the first game in a 9-6 battle, and fell short in the second when going extra innings 8-7.
Rapid Recap Game 1 (W, 9-6): Â
- The Hawks opened up the scoring as junior Gia Miccio (Bellmore, N.Y.) hitting a double down the right line to bring senior Azya Walker (Oak Forest, Ill.) and sophomore Alexis Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) home, to lead 2-0. Senior Olivia Wolk (Sugarloaf, Pa.) stepped up to the plate and dropped a powerful hit out to center field now bring Miccio home. Hawks closed out this first inning.
- Sealey kicked off this second inning with a powerful home-run that sailed over the back fence setting the tone for the rest of this game as the Hawks stay up 4-0. The Gulls were able to connect in the bottom of the second with Abby McClafin crossing the bag as Dani Lear was the Gull to send her home.
- The Hawks put a quick damper on the Gulls run with a four-run inning in the top of the third. Wolk, junior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.), sophomore Adelie Beebe (Sacramento, Calif.), and senior Sarah Serrano (Windsor, Conn.) crossed home plate to strengthen their lead to 8-1.Â
- The Gulls chased the tails of the Hawks as we moved through this match-up but were just unable to catch up. Serrano singled out to right field to bring home freshman Lucy Lembo (Albany, N.Y.) after she was strong rounding the bases stealing on a wild pitch.
- The Gulls found some strength late in the game crossing the bag twice with big plays made by Paige Berdos and Ava Kelley.
- The Hawks defended well to closing out the first game of the series 9-6 over the Gulls.

Sealey pitched five innings allowing 10 hits and five runs. Sealey also had one error, one walk, three strikeouts, and two wild pitches. Freshman Ella Zobel (Clarence, N.Y.) took the mound next to close out this first game pitching two innings allowing one hit, one run, one error, two strikeouts, and one wild pitch.Â

Sealey finished the game going 2-for-3, one home-run, one double, with two runs scored, and one RBI. Wolk lead the Hawks going 3-for-3 with one double, three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Walker was also strong for the Hawks today going 2-for-4, claiming two RBIs, and one run.
Rapid Recap Game 2 (L, 8-7):Â
- The Hawks used their momentum from the first game win to start the opening inning with three quick runs as senior Olivia Wolk (Sugarloaf, Pa.)Â sailed a deep homerun to bring home two hawks junior Gia Miccio (Bellmore, N.Y.), and sophomore Alexis Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) claiming three RBIs in one play.
- The Gulls were scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning. They caught up quickly to the Hawks four-run lead and brought across the plate three Gulls to make this ending a nail-biter.
- The Hawks maintained some distance on the Gulls as Miccio and Sealey had some good base work as Sealey scored in the top of the fifth now 5-3.
- The Gulls rallied in the bottom seventh bringing the two teams into extra innings forcing errors on the Hawks to score two more runs to fall even at 5-5
- Hartford came out strong in the top of the eighth even with tired legs, sophomore Hailey Pruett (Nottingham, N.H.) came in as a pitch runnier for junior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.) to kick of the eighth inning. Junior Taylor Fitch (Andover, Conn.) singled out to right field to bring Pruett home who used her speed to put the Hawks back on top. Then it was Sealey who sent the ball out to center field to bring Fitch home. Hawks closed out this extra inning 7-5.
- The Gulls were strong late in this match-up forcing errors and using key bunts to sneak around the bases. The tension rose in the bleachers as the Gulls had bases loaded with Abby McClaflin taking the plate. McClaflin singled by the shortstop to bring a Gull home, now just trailing by one. Chloe Shapleigh for the Gulls singled up the middle to claim two RBIs and take the win from the Hawks to finish 8-7.Â

Junior Carly Mayhood (Newton, N.J.) fell to 7-8 on the season. She pitched 2.2 innings. She had five strikeouts, allowed four runs, four hits, and two walks. Sophomore Gracie Hopkins (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) pitched five innings, she threw one strikeout, allowed five hits, three runs, three errors, and two walks

Wolk went 2-for-4, had two home runs, two runs, and four RBIs, Sealey went 3-for-4, with two runs, one RBI, and one double.Â
