Hawks Season Ends in Boston After Falling to Wentworth Institute of Technology

BOSTON, Mass. - The Hartford softball team ended its 2025 season on Saturday falling to Wentworth Institute of Technology in both games.

Rapid Recap Game 1 (L, 10-7):
  • The Hawks jumped ahead early in the second inning as senior Sarah Serrano (Windsor, Conn.) tripled in senior Azya Walker (Oak Forest, Ill.) and junior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.). Sophomore Alexis Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) followed it up doubling in Serrano as the lead hit 3-0. The Leopards would get a run back in the bottom of the second as a fielder's choice got the run home. In the bottom of the fourth Wentworth took advantage getting four runs on four hits and a defensive error. The key hit was a bases clearing triple as the Leopard lead was 5-3.
  • Hartford would answer in the top of the fifth getting two runs on a RBI singled by sophomore Bridget Bernard (North Andover, Mass.) as the score was evened at 5-5. The Leopards would take the lead again in the bottom of the fifth scoring five runs on three hits to lead 10-5. The Hawks would get two runs in the top of the sixth inning, but the visitors couldn't come all the way back as they would fall 10-7.
In the Circle:

Freshman Ella Zobel (Clarence, N.Y.) got the loss getting two outs while allowing three runs. Sophomore Gracie Hopkins (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) finished the game with a clean inning and two strikeouts.
At The Plate:
  • Sealey led the offense going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and RBI. Serrano went 2-for-3 with the triple, two ribbys and run scored. Farkash was 1-for-2 with a RBI and run scored, while Bernard added the two RBIs on a base hit.
Rapid Recap Game 2 (L, 6-4):
  • The Leopards got the lead in the bottom of the first on a RBI single after an error. In the third the lead grew to 3-0 after two hits produced two more runs. Hartford would respond in the fourth getting four runs across on three hits and an error. It started with an RBI double for Farkash. Junior Taylor Fitch (Andover, Conn.) would bring in the second run on a RBI ground out. Sealey gave the Hawks the lead with a two-run single to give Hartford the 4-3 advantage.
