WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. - The Hartford Men's Golf team played in the Williams College invitational over the weekend, in what would be a three round tournament over Saturday and Sunday. The Hawks would place 6th out of 15 teams after three rounds of golf.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Zack MacMillan (Toronto, Ontario)Â lead the Hawks in scoring, placing 8th overall, shooting a 74 (+3) in round one, 76 (+5), and a 69 (-2) in the third, for an overall score of +6.
- Next on the leaderboard for Hartford, freshman Griffin Lalonde (Montclair, N.J.) finished in 21st place shooting back to back 76s on Saturday, and a 74 in the lone round on Sunday, with an overall score of +13.
- Freshman Tim Kaley (Dalton, Mass.) was next in scoring for the Hawks shooting a 75 (+4) in round one, 78 (+7) in round two, and a 77 (+6) in the third round, placing 34th overall.
- Freshman Shawn Amari (Townsend, Mass.) placed 45th, shooting a 77 in round one, 75 in the second round, and 81 in the third round, for an overall score of +20.
- Rounding out the scoring for Hartford freshman Manolo Vargas (Medelin, Columbia) placed 50th overall, shooting a 74 and a 78 in Saturday's two rounds and a 83 on Sunday, for an overall score of +22.
Inside the Numbers:
- MacMillan finished the second round with two eagles, and the third round with six birdies.Â
- The Hawks finished with13 birdies in round one, nine birdies in round two, and 14 birdies in round threeÂ
- Lalonde was able to jump six spots between Saturday and Sunday. MacMillan jumped 13 spots as well.
- Babson College would take home first place, and Williams' Nick Smith would place 1st among individuals.
