MANCHESTER, Conn. - The Hartford men's tennis team continued their competition in Manchester as they took on Colby-Sawyer College this Sunday, ultimately falling 7-0 as their final team score. This was the Hawks Conference of New England (CNE) opener, and with this loss their overall season record is now 0-5.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers would earn three of the three doubles matches. Freshman Thomas Andersen (Berlin, Conn.) and freshman Jared DeGruttola (Auburn, Mass.) were the closest team to overtake the Chargers finishing 6-2.
- In singles action the Hawks were also unable to get any points on the board. Freshman Yande Simunyola (Dawsonville, Ga.) nearly took down the opposing Charger in #2 singles match with the first set finishing at 6-4 and the second 6-2.
