SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Hartford men's tennis team dropped a close Conference of New England (CNE) match to Western New England University by a 4-3 final.

• The Hawks would take the doubles point, sweeping all three pairs to take the first point. In number #1 doubles freshman Max Poss (South Orange, N.J.) and sophomore Jake Short (Poughquag, N.Y.) would start it off with a 6-2 win. Sophomore Anthony Pomares (Norwich, N.Y.) and freshman Yande Simunyola (Dawsonville, Ga.) would sweep #2 doubles winning 6-3. Freshman Thomas Andersen (Berlin, Conn.) and freshman Jared DeGruttola (Auburn, Mass.) would win #3 doubles by a 7-5 margin. 
• In singles action, Hartford would win the #3 singles and #4 singles to get the three points. Short won a 6-4, 6-1 final and Pomares won by a 6-4, 6-2 final. The Golden Bears would come back and win #1, #2, #5 and #6 singles to pull out the win.
