Hartford Men's Tennis Drops Senior Day Match to Endicott College

MANCHESTER, Conn. - The Hartford men's tennis team closed out the Conference of New England (CNE) schedule on Sunday falling to Endicott College by a 7-0 final. 

Rapid Recap:
  • The Gulls would take the doubles point after surviving an early spark from Hartford. In number #1 doubles freshman Max Poss (South Orange, N.J.) and sophomore Jake Short (Poughquag, N.Y.) would fall 7-6. Sophomore Anthony Pomares (Norwich, N.Y.) and freshman Yande Simunyola (Dawsonville, Ga.) dropped the second doubles pairing 6-1. Freshman Thomas Andersen (Berlin, Conn.) and freshman Jared DeGruttola (Auburn, Mass.) would fall in #3 doubles 6-4. 
  • In singles action, Endicott would sweep the singles action to win by the 7-0 final. Poss would take the first set against Conrad Kadel, but Kadel responded winning in points tiebreaker by a 10-4 final. 
  • Prior to the match the Hawks honored their lone senior Kamau Nicholas (East Orange, N.J.) who joined the program last year and was one of the first members of the new Hartford men's tennis program.
