BEVERLY, Mass. - The Hartford baseball team concluded its 2026 season on Friday afternoon falling to #11 Endicott College by a 10-0 final in the semifinals. The Hawks conclude the season with a 22-15-1 record including going 14-4 in Conference of New England (CNE) play.
Rapid Recap:
- The Gulls jumped ahead in the bottom of the first getting three runs on four hits. Senior Jackson Ciccone (Danbury, Conn.) would get the first hit of the day for the Hawks in the second but he could not come around after stealing second. Endicott would get two more runs on two hits and a defensive error as the lead hit 5-0.
- In the bottom of the sixth the Gulls continued to add runs getting another to make the score 6-0. Endicott finally added four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth as the lead pushed to 10-0. The Hawks would only get a pair of hits from the fifth inning on dropping the game by the 10-0 final.
On the Mound:
- Sophomore Justin Gouin (North Haven, Conn.) picked up the loss going two innings allowing three runs with two punch outs. Junior Sam Smith (Branford, Conn.) followed getting a lone out while allowing a pair of runs. Sophomore Michael Greco (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) got two outs allowing a lone run. Junior Sean Stanley (Teaneck, N.J.) got four outs while allowing three runs. Junior Joseph Ferrucci (Wolcott, Conn.) got a pair of outs while allowing a single run. Senior Logan Huzi (Trumbull, Conn.) went two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Junior AJ Formato (Fairfield, Conn.) threw the last inning without allowing a run.
- Jeremy Krendel got the win for the Gulls going seven strong allowing just four hits with five strikeouts.
At the Plate
- Ciccone went 2-for-3 with a stolen to lead the offense. Sophomore Nico DiGioia (Hamden, Conn.) went 1-for-2 with a double Hartford would only muster four hits all day in the loss.
- Kyle Grabowski led the Gulls going 4-for-4, while TJ Liponis added a 3-for-3 game with a homer, three runs scored and three RBIs.
