KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Tuesday, the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) today released the first 2026 IWSOC DIII Top 25 Coaches Poll of the season in partnership with United Soccer Coaches with the University of Hartford coming in at #19 in the nation. 

Hartford was not ranked in the preseason poll that came out on August 4th, but have jumped into the top 25 after starting the year 3-0-1. The one draw for Hartford came back on September 4th against Montclair State University who also was selected to the top 25 as the Red Hawks come in at #22 after the first two weeks of action. The Hawks has since won three-straight contests against Emmanuel College, Springfield College and in the Conference of New England (CNE) opener on Saturday against Gordon College. 

The last time the women's soccer program was ranked was back on September 10th of 2024 when Hartford came in at #17. 

Hartford also comes in #2 in the regional poll trailing just #5 Massachusetts of Technology. Trailing the Hawks is the University of New England who rank third in the regional poll. 

So far this season the Hawks has outscored opponents 9-3 with freshman Taylor Freimuth (Terryville, Conn.) leading the scoring with four goals. Senior Kathleen Brush (Wethersfield, Conn.) follows with two goals and an assist while junior Sara Rieger (Waxhaw, N.C.) has had two goals off the bench including Saturday's game-winner. Defensively freshman Madelyn Nunnemacher (Sutton, Mass.) has gone 3-0-0 in net with seven saves and just one goal allowed.

The Hawks' next game will be on Saturday, September 19th with a 3:00 PM start against the University of New England in a huge CNE game. 

About the Poll
The IWSOC DIII Top 25 Coaches Poll, conducted in partnership with United Soccer Coaches, is voted on exclusively by Division III women's soccer coaches.The rankings are released each Tuesday throughout the regular season, beginning with the preseason edition and continuing through the final poll following the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The poll serves as an indicator of week-to-week team status and carries no bearing on at-large selections for the NCAA Tournament.
