SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Hartford women's tennis team opened up conference play today on Tuesday, September 15th after falling to Western New England 7-0.

- The Hawks fell in all three doubles matches. Sophomore Maddie Pearlman (New Hampton, N.Y.) and freshman Isabelle Simino (Franklin, Mass.) put up a strong fight in doubles but ultimately were outdone 7-5, while the 2nd and 3rd pairs lost 6-2 and 6-0.
- In singles play, graduate student Lora Acquario (East Nassau, N.Y.) strongly contended in her conference play debut, putting together Hartford's closest singles match before falling to Leina Salomon in three sets. Salomon won the first set 6-2, Acquario won the second 6-2. Salomon finished it off for the win in the third set defeating Acquario 6-4.
- Junior Natalie Lamb (Glastonbury, Conn.) was the next closest Hawk falling to Elise Catlett (6-2, 6-2) in #6 singles.

The Hawks will continue conference play at home on September 19th, hosting Endicott College at 1:00 PM.
