WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford field hockey team dropped a home Conference of New England (CNE) match up to #16 Endicott College by a 10-0 final.
Rapid Recap:
- The teams began the game knotted at 0-0 for the first 14 minutes of the contest. Sophomore Caroline Somers (Worcester, Mass.) held strong in net, making eight first-quarter saves. The tie was broken by a 14th minute on an Endicott goal from Sabrina Brunet on the feed from Abby Antonelli.
- The Gulls came out firing in the second quarter, jumping to a fast 4-0 lead on goals from Ellen Barto in the 21st minute and back-to-back goals from Brunet in the 22nd minute. Endicott remained in the driver's seat throughout the remainder of the quarter, forcing Somers to make another six saves. The Gulls entered half up 5-0.
- The Hawks made a goalie change going into the second half, putting freshman Leah Miller (Guilderland, NY.) between the pipes. Miller accounted for two saves, but the Gulls' attack was too much for the Hartford defense, scoring another two goals in the third quarter.
- Endicott kept the momentum going in the fourth quarter, netting three additional goals to seal the deal on a 10-0 victory over the Hawks.

- The Hawks were outshot 41-0.
- Somers, Miller, and sophomore Aubrey Paul (Verona, N.J.) accounted for 21 total saves in net for Hartford in the loss.
- Madison Barwood and Brunet led the Gulls' scoring effort, each netting three goals.
