WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford Field Hockey team would play host to UMass Boston on Thursday, in a non-conference matchup. The Hawks would end the game victorious with a commanding 5-2 win.
Rapid Recap:
- UMass Boston would get on the scoresheet early as only one minute and 37 seconds in Delaney Williams would score the first goal of the contest. However, the Hawks would find their footing in the early going as sophomore Kyra Bernard (Agawam, Mass.) would score the opening goal from the Hawks off a long pass from the top of the fan, from freshman Alexina Lentes (Agawam, Mass.).
- Hartford would start the second quarter with a quick attack, as Bernard would score once again this time with a pass across the byline from sophomore Ashley Taylor (South Deerfield, Mass.). The Hawks would again find a scoring opportunity as a fast break triggered by sophomore Ava Lipson (Colchester, Vt.) would find freshman Olive Thatcher (Keene, N.H.) for a one - on - one chance that she would capitalize on to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead. Bernard would score once more in the second quarter, completing her hatrick on the night with the assist from sophomore Molly O'Donnell (Holyoke, Mass.) off of a penalty corner.
- In the third quarter the Hawks would again add to their lead, as Lipson would receive a cross on the byline, and off a first shot deflection would find the back of the cage for a 5-1 lead.
- UMass Boston wouldn't give up without a fight as in the fourth quarter they would cap off the scoring, with a goal from Alexis D'Angelo. Making the final score 5-2 in favor of Hartford.

- Bernard would end with three goals, and seven shots on goal, Ashley would finish with one assist and three shots on goal. Lipson would finish with one goal, and five shots on goal, and Thatcher would end with one goal on three shots.
- The Hawks would dominate the shots category with a whopping 23-9, and 18 shots on goal to UMass Boston's 7.
- The Hawks would earn seven penalty corners in the four quarters of action.
- There would be a total of zero fouls from both teams.
