VERONA, N.Y. - The Hartford Men's golf team opened up their 2026-27 season at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College at Turning Stone Resort. The Hawks would place tied for 7th out of nine teams with UMass Amherst. 

Rapid Recap:

• Freshman Justin Crossen (Wethersfield, Conn.) placed tied for 17th, shooting a 74 (+2) in the first round and 75 (+3) in the third round.
• Sophomore Griffin La Londe (Montclair, N.J.) placed tied for 27th, shooting a even 72 in the second round. 
• Freshman Luke Olynick (Toronto, Ontario) placed tied for 46th, shooting back to back 81s (+9) in the second and third round. 
• Sophomore Tim Kaley (Dalton, Mass.) placed 48th, with a 80 (+8) in the second round. 
• Freshman Braeden Bhalla (Ridgewood, N.J.) placed 57th overall. 
• Sophomore Shawn Amari (Townsend, Mass.) placed 49th as an independent for the Hawks, shooting a 73 (+1) in the third round. 

Inside the Numbers:

• Hartford would finish with 22 birdies across the three rounds. 
• Crossen would string three birdies in a row in the third round on holes 2-4.
• Harvard's Barry Zhang placed 1st overall in the tournament.
• Harvard would take home first place out of nine teams.

Up Next:
The Hawks will travel to Westbury, N.Y. for the George Cangero Invitational hosted by Farmingdale State College, on September 12th-13th.
