CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

• Made the America East Academic Honor Roll in 2015

 
Senior (2016):
Made nine appearances out of the bullpen for the Hawks this season … had a record of 2-0 in his 9.2 innings of work … ended the season with a 7.45 ERA with 11 strikeouts … gave up no hits or runs in 1.1 innings of work, striking out one while recording the win against Villanova (3/24) … struck out three in 1.2 innings of work while recording the win against Yale (3/30).

JUNIOR (2015):
Mellin was a workhorse out of the bullpen for Hartford, appearing in 17 games, starting one … logged a career-high 28.0 innings and 28 strikeouts … pitched three scoreless innings, striking out two against Holy Cross (3/31) … gave up just one earned run over a 12-game stretch between March and May in 2015 … made the 10^th most appearances for a pitcher in the America East and finished off seven games, good for 9^th in the conference … named to the America East Academic Honor Roll for achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

SOPHOMORE (2014):
Made 15 appearances, all out of the bullpen … finished the season with a career best 3.42 ERA allowing 15 total runs, 10 earned, in 26.1 innings of work … finished the season with a career high 24 strikeouts, fourth most on the team … completed five appearances without allowing a run, a total of six innings … closed out the season with a 2-2 overall record … first win came against in-state rival UConn (3/25), while adding a victory against league foe Albany (4/20) … struck out a career-high four batters in 2.1 innings of work against the Army Black Knights (4/16) … played summer ball for the Nashua Silver Knights in the Futures Collegiate League.

FRESHMAN (2013):
Made 14 appearances on the mound, with one in a starting role … finished the season seventh on the team with a 5.09 earned run average … pitched a total of 23 innings allowing 22 runs, 13 of which were earned … gave up 33 hits while striking out 14 batters and walking eight … finished the season with a 1-0 record, the lone victory against Stony Brook (5/17), pitching one inning of relief … finished five-straight games and nine consecutive innings without allowing a run, giving up five total hits in that stretch … struck out a season-high three batters in two games against Army (5/2) and Northeastern (5/7).

BEFORE HARTFORD:
Played four years of baseball at Nashua High North … helped lead his team to the Division I State Championship, while receiving First Team All-State distinction … was a runner-up for the Gatorade Pitcher of the Year honors in New Hampshire … also named First Team NHIAA … a member of DECA, a national program for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management … a criminal justice major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
