AT HARTFORD
2026: Popovich was named to his first All-Conference selection making the CNE All-Conference 2nd Team after a breakout junior season. Alek ended the year slashing .331/.378/.526 (AVG/SLG/OBP) with four homers, 12 doubles a triple, 30 RBIs and 23 runs scored. Popovich added 45 putouts in the field with a .957 fielding percentage. He had 15 multi-hit games for the Hawks in his junior season with 32 starts and 33 appearances. Popovich had his best game of the season on April 1st against Eastern Connecticut State University going 4-for-5 with three RBIs, a double and a run scored. On April 4th at Roger Williams University in a series sweep Alek would go 5-for-8 with four doubles, five RBIs and two runs scored. He would earn CNE Player of the Week honors on April 6th for his week. On April 14th he would add a big day at Johnson & Wales University going 3-for-6 with a homer, three runs scored and four RBIs in another win. 

2025: Popovich played in 28 games during his sophomore season for the Hawks in the outfield. He posted a .316 batting average and a .872 OPS while tallying 37 hits, eight doubles and five home runs. This included 24 runs and he scored 27 times. One of his most impactful performances happened on April 29th against Wesleyan, where he went yard twice. Defensively, Popovich maintained a .961 fielding percentage, recording 47 putouts and two assists.

2024: Popovich made 17 starts in his freshman season appearing in a 17 total games. Alex ended the year with a .400/.520/.650 (AVG/OBP/SLG), with 15 runs scored, 13 runs-batted-in, and eight stolen bags. Popovich slammed three home-runs over the fence, along with two doubles and two triples. In the field Alex closed out the season with 31 putouts and two assists totaling a FLD% of 1.0.

PRIOR TO HARTFORD: Graduate of Marianapolis Preparatory School, where Popovich earned NEBJ 1st Team Outstanding Achievement Award and Golden Knight Award Top Newcomer during his time at Marianapolis Prep School.
