Matthew Kittner enters his third season at the University of Hartford in 2025-26.
With the Hawks, Kittner is the lead recruiting coordinator for the men's basketball team while also helping with skill development, practice and game preparation, fundraising, alumni outreach and community service projects.Â
Prior to being at Hartford, Kittner was the assistant coach at the College of New Jersey where he was the lead assistant and lead recruiting coordinator. While at TCNJ, Kittner was a part of the 2020-21 NJAC Regular Season Champions team, while also making the conference playoffs in all three-seasons he was there. Matthew also organized and directed multiple elite prospect basketball clinics at TCNJ.Â
Kittner also served as an assistant coach in the 21st Maccabiah games for Team USA in 2022. Under head coach Doug Gottlieb, the USA would win the gold medal. Matthew was responsible for assisting with player development, practice planning, scouting opponents, film breakdown and lineup information.Â
Before being at the College of New Jersey, Kittner was an assistant coach at Penn State Abington for three years. During his time there, he was the lead recruiting coordinator for all out of state prospective student-athletes. Kittner helped the Nittany Lions to their first home conference tournament game and win in program history in 2018-19.
He also served as the associate varsity basketball head coach at Bogota High School in New Jersey for seven years ending in 2017.Â
Kittner was a two-year letter winner at FDU-Florham, where he was a SAAC representative.
Kittner graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University - Teaneck with a bachelor's in political science.
