Paul Armstrong concluded his first season as an assistant coach for the Hartford men’s soccer team in 2018. A native of Liverpool, England, Armstrong was a four-year starter on the CCSU soccer team.
At CCSU, Armstrong helped lead the team to an NCAA Sweet Sixteen run in 2007, where he was named to the Northeast Conference All-Tournament Team in addition to earning Tournament Goalkeeper laurels.
Armstrong also spent time playing with the Premier Development League (PDL), putting in minutes for the Panama City Pirates in 2009 and the Western Mass Pioneers in 2010.
Armstrong began his coaching career with the CFC Rocky Hill Wolves in 2010 and also coached PDL goalkeepers for CFC Azul in 2012.
Armstrong graduated from CCSU in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in exercise science. In addition to his other accolades, he was a Youth Training Scholar at Chester City FC in the United Kingdom in addition to joining the goalkeeping staff for Connecticut ODP. Armstrong is a Certified Health Fitness Specialist and holds a USSF E License, Goalkeeping Diploma and FA Level three badge (UK).
