Erica Rabe joined University of Hartford Athletics as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2023. Prior to Hartford Erica began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, and as Associate Head Athletic Trainer at Mitchell College in New London, CT. She also worked at the high school level at Portland High School and Watkinson School before returning to collegiate Athletics.
During her time at SFC Erica was assigned to Women’s Volleyball, Basketball and Water Polo and enacted a concussion training program for all coaches and athletics staff. In the 2014-2015 season, she was the AT for the basketball program that won the NEC Championship and earned a spot in the Division 1 Women’s NCAA Basketball tournament.
After four years at SFC, Erica relocated to CT to become the Associate Head Athletic Trainer for Mitchell College. While at Mitchell the pandemic put a stop to all athletics, so to ensure the athletes were as safe as possible upon return to the fall regular season, Erica earned a Contact Tracing Certification from Johns Hopkins University to assist in keeping outbreaks of Covid in the dorms and on the fields to an absolute minimum.
Erica received her B.S./M.S. at LIU Brooklyn (2014) and also holds a B.A. in Business Management from New England College (2005).
Along with her Athletic Training Licensure and Certification, she is a certified Myofascial Cupping Practitioner, CPR Instructor for The Red Cross and is and Adjunct Professor in the Exercise Science Program at University of Hartford.
