Assistant coach Olivia Pyne joined Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Meg Decker's staff in September 2016. Pyne came to the Hawks following a successful playing career at the University of Oregon (2011-15), where she served as a team captain for the Ducks during her senior season.
“Olivia is an incredible addition to our program and will play an integral role as we continue to lay the foundation for our inaugural season in the spring of 2018,” Decker said. “Olivia’s leadership, positive communication style and passion for student-athletes will directly translate to the success of our program. I am proud to have her on board!”
An Edgewater, Md. native, Pyne started all 18 games and led Oregon with 34 goals as a senior. She finished her career with 62 goals, 19 assists and a .504 shooting percentage. After graduation, Pyne took over as the head coach at West Linn (Ore.) for the 2015-16 academic year, leading the Lions to the state championship game.
“I am so thankful and excited to work along side Meg and the athletic department in developing the women’s lacrosse program at the University of Hartford,” Pyne said. “I am very honored to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of professionals and to learn from the best. The welcome and support from the Hartford family has been tremendous and I can't wait to get started!”
