ALBANY, NY - The University of Hartford men's basketball team saw its season come to an end against Binghamton University on Saturday night, 73-65,  in the quarterfinals of the America East Championship at SEFCU Arena.

Binghamton (21-8 overall) shot 45 percent in the game and made 32-of-43 from the free throw line. The Hawks shot just 37 percent and committed 17 turnovers.

The Hawks were paced by seniors Michael Turner and Jaret von Rosenberg. Turner scored 20 points and added seven rebounds before fouling out in the final minute of the contest. Von Rosenberg added 15 points and six boards in 39 minutes.

The Hawks got out to a quick start as Turner and von Rosenberg each netted three-pointers on Hartford's first two possessions of the game. Binghamton rallied back with 11 of the next 15 points to take an 11-10 lead on an Alvin three with 9:55 left to play in the half.

After Hartford nudged back in front on a von Rosenberg lay-up, Binghamton took the lead for good behind a 12-0 run. Another trey by Alvin capped the spurt and put the Bearcats up 25-14 with 4:18 to go. Binghamton pumped the lead to as many as 13 points in the half and led 33-20 at the break.

Binghamton controlled most of the second half and built the lead to as many as 20 points with 6:28 remaining. The Hawks, however, refused to quit and cut the lead in half with 31 seconds left in the game.

After a pair of free throws put Binghamton back up by 12, senior Clint Kuban buried back-to-back three-pointers within a six-second span to bring the Hawks to within six with 16 ticks left on the clock. The Bearcats then sealed the win by making 5-of-6 from the line in the final seconds.
