West Hartford, CT – Senior forward Erica Beverly picked up her first honor of the season, fourth for the Hawks, when she was named the America East Player of the Week after putting up back-to-back double doubles in a 3-0 week.
Beverly averaged a double double on the week, with 11.3 points and 10.0 rebounds-per-game. She closed out the week with double doubles at Boston University and at home against Albany. She opened the week with a 13-point, three rebound, four assist performance against Maine, where she went 5-of-8 from the field (.625).
Beverly, a three-time all-conference award recipient, then went on the road to score her fourth double double with 11 points and 16 rebounds at Boston University. The 16 rebounds tied her career high. She added three assists and four blocks in the game.
To cap off the week, Beverly added another double double and four more blocks in a win against Albany. She scored 10 points and collected 11 boards, while handing out three assists in 23 minutes. Beverly is currently second on the team in both scoring (9.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg).
The Hawks will put their nine-game win streak and their unbeaten record in conference play on the line in two games this week, the first at preseason conference favorite Vermont on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. on NESN.
