WEST HARTFORD, Conn. –
The University of Hartford women's basketball team dropped its third-straight game on Tuesday night, falling to the CCSU Blue Devils 82-50 at the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion. Leading the Hawks was freshman forward Alyssa Reaves who finished with 11 points, all in the second half, and three assists.

Reaves was tied for the team lead in scoring with senior guard Alyssa Englert who led all Hawks shooters missing just one of five attempts from the field and making all three of her free throw attempts. As a team, Hartford shot 33.3 percent (18-of-54) from the field, including 25 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-16).

CCSU finished the game shooting 48.5 percent on 32-of-66 and made 57 percent of its three point attempts (8-of-14). Kaley Watras led the Blue Devils, and all players in the game, with 24 points, two shy of the junior guards career high.

Following the Hawks taking a 5-4 lead on three free throws from Amber Bepko, the Blue Devils rattled off 10 straight points to take a 14-5 lead and never looked back. The Hawks would chip into that lead with a three pointer from Katelyn Skinner who came off the bench to hit her first field goal attempt.

After the Hawks pulled within seven on a three pointer from freshman Morgan Lumb, the Blue Devils responded by taking their first double digit lead on a 7-0 run that ended with a 25-11 lead with 6:59 remaining. Hartford broke that lead with layup and free throw from Englert to pull back within single digits.

Englert would provide the Hawks final basket of the opening half with 4:24 remaining on a layup, but CCSU would end the half scoring 10 unanswered points to take a 40-20 lead into the break. Coming out of the intermission, the Blue Devils quickly extended that lead to 30 with just over five minutes played.

Hartford wasn't able to string together a run in the second half as the Blue Devils opened up as much as a 36 point lead on two occasions, the first coming with 3:25 remaining in the game. The would match that lead with a jump shot from Johnna Fisher with 66 seconds remaining, while Hartford would manage the final four points of the game all from Englert, a layup and two free throws.

The Hawks begin a five-game road stretch with a pair of games in Miami, Florida at the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament. Hartford will first meet Missouri on Friday, November 29 at 3 p.m. and face either the host Hurricanes or the St. Francis (NY) Terriers on Saturday.
