STONY BROOK, NY – The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped an America East matchup to the Stony Brook Seawolves on Friday evening (25-14, 25-8, 25-20). Senior Sareeta Nethersole led the Hawks (13-11, 2-5 AE) through three sets with a team high .259 hitting percentage with nine kills.
Sophomore Corinne Horanzy and junior Chandler Goodwin finished with four kills apiece to add to Nethersole's nine kill performance. Freshman Katy Henchy added three kills to the Hawks 24 total on the night while senior Jackie Tamburri finished with 22 of the 23 Hawk assists.
As a team, the Hawks combined for two blocks and 26 digs defensively led by Nethersole who finished with 11 digs and one solo block. Horanzy added seven digs followed by Tamburri and Llerandi with three each.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
· Freshman outside hitter Katy Henchy took over third all-time in block assists for a single season passing Teri Connolly (04) in the second set to record her 60th block assists on the season.
· As a team, the Hawks posted 26 digs and two blocks defensively.
· Senior setter Jackie Tamburri finished with her 22nd 20+ assists game of the season. Tamburri has 20+ assists in 22 of the 23 Hawk matches this season.
· The Hawks saw their best offense in the first set with a .061 hitting percentage and eight kills.
· Senior outside hitter Sareeta Nethersole finished with her 17th double-digit game of the season with 11.

· Nethersole, Henchy, and Goodwin finished the set with two kills apiece.
· Defensively, Horanzy led the Hawks with four digs followed by Nethersole and sophomore Paola Llerandi with two each.
· The Hawks saw their best offense with a .061 hitting percentage with six kills on 24 attempts and seven errors.

· Offensively, Nethersole led the Hawks with three of the five total kills.
