WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Hartford volleyball team completed its third three-set sweep of the season, defeating the Quinnipiac Bobcats (25-15, 25-21, 25-16) on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks (10-7 overall) were led by senior Maya Louis who finished with a personal season-best nine kills on 19 attempts for a .262 hitting percentage.
Freshman Alyse Wenzel finished with a four kill third set giving her a new career high with five kills overall. Wenzel also finished with a .714 hitting percentage for a new three set season high for the Hawks. Senior Sareeta Nethersole and freshmen Katy Henchy added seven kills apiece while senior setter Jackie Tamburri added 31 assists.
Defensively, the Hawks recorded a new three-set team high with seven blocks, led by Louis, Henchy and Chandler Goodwin who all finished with three. Nethersole led the way with 11 digs on the afternoon to give the Hawks 37 overall.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
· Senior middle blocker Maya Louis finished with nine kills for a new season high.
· Freshmen Alyse Wenzel led the Hawks with a .714 hitting percentage with five kills on seven attempts for a new team high in three sets.
· As a team, the Hawks finished with seven total blocks setting a new season high in three sets, with a trio of players all finishing with three total; Louis, Katy Henchy and Chandler Goodwin.
· The Hawks commanded the lead throughout the third set to record their 10th win of the season, the most non-conference victories since 1999 (10-8 in non-league games).

SET ONE
· Maya Louis led the Hawks offensively with six kills on nine attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.
· Katy Henchy added a .400 hitting percentage with three kills on five attempts and one error.
· The Hawks played their best defense recording 17 digs and three blocks.
SET TWO
· Henchy led Hartford offensively with three kills on six attempts for a .167 average, while Louis added two kills.
· The Hawks and Bobcats saw nine tie scores and four lead changes before deciding the set.
· Sareeta Nethersole added a 1.000 hitting percentage with one kill while leading Hawks defensively with four digs.
SET THREE
· The Hawks dominated play in the third set, never allowing the Bobcats to take a lead.
· Alysse Wenzel led the Hawks with a career high four kills on six attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.
· Nethersole and Corinne Horanzy added three kills apiece.
