THE LEAD:
Jenna Bridges led the way with 10 kills and four blocks, but UAlbany won tight sets in the first and second en route to a 3-0 victory on Friday. The Great Danes remained in first place in the America East with the win.

Chloe Evering led all players with 11 kills and Laini Leindecker added 10 in the victory for UAlbany. Taylor Robinson and Amanda Dolan each had six blocks as the Great Danes totaled 14 as a team. Nicole Otero led three players in double-digit digs with 16.

Paola Llerandi led all players with 19 digs in a losing effort, while
Megan Scherer and
Paulina Modestow each added 10 for the Hawks. Modestow saw her string of matches with double-digit kills snapped at eight, while
Rachel Moll added five kills against one error for Hartford.
SET-BY-SET
• The opening stanza was a strong, back-and-forth affair that featured 16 ties and six lead changes. UAlbany got the first significant edge at 10-7, but the Hawks came right back with four in a row, two on kills by
Katy Henchy and two on kills by Modestow, to regain the lead. The teams swapped points to a 22-20 Hartford lead, but the Great Danes stole momentum and took a 23-22 edge en route to a 25-23 victory.
• In the second, UAlbany used a run of five-straight points to garner a 9-6 advantage and force a Hartford timeout. But the Hawks came roaring back with six in a row, two on Modestow kills and two on Bridges kills, to take a 12-9 lead. Hartford continued to hold the lead but the Great Danes chipped away, and finished the set with five-straight points for a 25-21 triumph.
• The third saw the teams start even at 5-5, but the Great Danes went on a momentous run to open a 20-8 lead en route to a 25-11 victory. UAlbany delivered six blocks to key the triumph.

Hartford will wrap up its home schedule when it takes on Binghamton on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. The contest will be Senior Day, with Hartford honoring Moll and Llerandi prior to their final match in the Hartford Volleyball Gym.Â
