The University of Hartford volleyball team fell at New Hampshire, 3-0, on Saturday in America East action. SET-BY-SET:
  • The Hawks fell behind early in the first set, as UNH jumped out to a quick 15-3 advantage behind a pair of kills from Smith and a pair from Hannah Petke. The Wildcats continued to rally, building their lead to 21-9 before putting the set away by scoring four of the final five points.
  • Simliar to the opening set, the Wildcats took a quick lead, this time pulling ahead by an 8-2 count. Kills from Bridges and Rachel Moll helped the Hawks keep the gap within six, but UNH got hot and extended its lead into double-digits at 21-11. With the lead in New Hampshire's favor at 22-12, the Wildcats clinched the set with a Hawks' service error followed by back-to-back kills from Smith and Severtson.
  • The Hawks got out to an early lead in the third set. Three kills from senior Katy Henchy and one from Paulina Modestow saw Hartford take a 6-4 advantage over UNH. The Hawks maintained that edge, and pulled ahead by as many as five points (18-13), before the Wildcats clawed their way back. Five-straight UNH points knotted up the score at 18-all, but the Hawks did not let go, as a Wildcats error made it a 21-20 Hartford lead. The Hawks were unable to hold off a late UNH charge, though, as Tanski contributed three kills to the Wildcats' game-ending, 5-0 run.
