iTHE BASICS:

THE LEAD:
The University of Hartford men's soccer team completed a furious comeback, scoring a 3-2 double-overtime victory against Central Connecticut on Tuesday night.
Alexis Triadis finished the game with a pair of assists and the game-winning goal in the 106th minute to seal the game for the Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Central struck early. In the sixth minute, Central's Andres Albino sent a strike to the upper 90, off a pass from Ryan Taylor to put the Blue Devils up 1-0.
- In the following minutes, the Hawks went on the offensive. Andre Morrison sent a missile from 20 yards out, that would bounce off the top of the crossbar late in the 13th minute.
- Alexis Triadis followed moments later with a look from 4 yards out, that was punched away by the diving Carson D'Ambrosio for the Blue Devils.
- Hartford would open the second half on their front foot. In the 51st minute, Rasmus Karlsson sent a shot from 15 yards out, that was saved by D'Ambrosio, that was quickly followed by a free-kick shot from Triadis which was also saved by D'Ambrosio.
- In the 64th minute, the Blue Devils extended their lead to 2-0. From the baseline, Panos Ravanis snuck a ball past the diving Jimmy Slayton.
- Off a free position kick from Triadis, Nyrik Antoine netted his second goal of the season from inside the box, to cut the Central lead to 2-1.
- Christian Deaconson nets equalizer in the 86th minute. Off a cross from Triadis low in the box, Deaconson sent a slow roller to the far post for his first goal of the season.
- Triadis broke the tie in the 106th minute. Off a fast break, Triadis sent a strike to the bottom right corner of the goal, giving the Hawks the 3-2 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS & NOTES:
- Central Connecticut outshot the Hawks, 18-15, but the Hawks owned the advantage in corner kicks, 11-10.
- Slayton finished the game with the eight saves, raising his season total to 35
- Antoine, Deaconson, and Triadis all scored the second goal of the season.
UP NEXT:
Hartford returns home on Saturday, Sept. 30, when it opens conference play against Vermont in a 7 p.m. tilt. Saturday will serve as CJSA Night, where kids wearing their jersey from a CJSA club receive complimentary admission.
