WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford women's soccer team clinched a spot in the upcoming America East Championship after taking down Binghamton, 3-1, on Senior Day at Al-Marzook Field. Three different players found the back of the net for the red-hot Hawks (12-1-2), who remain undefeated in league matches with a 5-0-1 mark.
Binghamton drops to 7-7-2 overall and 2-4-0 in the America East with the defeat.

- A through ball played down field by junior Sierra Stone set up Hartford for an early goal, as Ashley Claud finished from 12 yards out in the ninth minute.
- The Hawks quickly doubled their lead on a strike from Kaila Lozada just over five minutes later. A series of touch passes from junior Skylar Vitiello and Claud led to the short-range goal in the 14th minute.
- A long blast off the boot of senior Hayley Nolan extended Hartford's lead to three goals in the 69th minute. The shot, which was sent on target, deflected off of Binghamton keeper Haylee Poltorak into the back of the net.
- The Bearcats cut their deficit to 3-1 on a set piece, as Kayla Saagar headed in a corner kick in the 69th minute, but despite applying added pressure down the stretch, they were unable to come any closer.
- The Hawks held an 8-4 advantage in shots, including a 6-1 margin in shots on goal, but the Bearcats finished with a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
HARTFORD NOTES
- Hartford has gone unbeaten in its past 12 matches (10-0-2), dating back to a 2-0 defeat to Providence on Aug. 23. It marks the program's longest unbeaten streak since 2011, when the Hawks went 14 games without a loss (11-0-3) to open the season.
- Hartford has won eight of the past nine against Binghamton to improve to 12-5-1 in the series.
- With the playoff berth, the Hawks will be making their ninth-straight appearance in the America East Championship.
- Prior to the match, the Hawks honored five seniors (Julia Carr, Claud, Nolan, Annabelle Phillips and Molly Socha), who played in their final regular-season game at Al-Marzook Field. The five players have led Hartford to 43 wins and a pair of America East Regular-Season Championships during their time with the program.
