BALTIMORE, Md. –Hartford dropped its final regular season match of the year, falling to UMBC 3-0 Sunday afternoon.

Abby Nash and Britany Braun each had eight kills for the Hawks, who finish the regular season 11-13 overall and 4-8 in conference play. Brooke Hayden and Paola Rojas each registered a match-high 10 kills for the Retrievers, who improve to 7-19 on the season and 3-9 in the America East.
UMBC 3, HARTFORD 0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-20)
- SET ONE:Leading by one (10-9), UMBC rattled off four straight points to take a five-point lead in the first. Hartford closed within three at 19-16 on a kill by Bridges, but the Retrievers wrapped up the opening set on a 6-1 run for the early 1-0 lead.
- SET TWO:It was all UMBC in the second set, as they hit .500 as a team with 13 kills for the 25-9 win.
- SET THREE:Tied at 12, UMBC used a quick 3-0 run to push ahead of the Hawks 15-12. Hartford closed within one (15-14) once again on back-to-back kills by Modestow, but a 7-1 run by Retrievers put them ahead by six (21-15) as they closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.
- NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS:Nash recorded a team-high 10 digs… Anderson registered a match-high 25 assists… UMBC hit .376 as a team led by Becca Elrod hitting a match-high .426 with eight kills.
