THE LEAD:
A four-run seventh inning pushes UMass Lowell past the University of Hartford baseball team, 7-6, in West Hartford on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A pitcher's duel early, the Hawks scored the only run in the first five innings off an RBI single up the middle from Zachary Ardito, scoring senior TJ Ward in the second.
- The River Hawks earned their first hit and run of the game in the fifth, scoring off an RBI single up the middle to tie the game at one.
- Hartford quickly regained the lead in the top half of the fifth off the bat of senior Nick Campana who laced his fourth homer of the weekend to right center. Junior Chris Sullivan drove in junior Cam Belliveau he reached on an error, Ward sacrificed flew out to before junior Jackson Olson ripped an RBI single up the middle to put the Hawks up 5-1.
- Both squads exchanged sacrifice flies in the sixth, 6-2.
- The River Hawks exploded for four runs in the seventh, highlighted by a three-run home run from Colby Maiola to knot the game back up at 6.
- UMass Lowell jumped ahead in the eighth, scoring on an RBI single to left field to take the 7-6 decision.

- Senior Nick Campana extended his hitting streak to 17 games with his homer in the fifth inning.
