Sophomore Bryce Walker ripped the go-ahead RBI single to center field, driving in freshman Drew DeMartino and sophomore Zachary Ardito in the bottom of the eighth to help lead the Hawks to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hawks opened up the scoring up in the first inning, as senior TJ Ward laced an RBI double to right, driving in junior Ashton Bardzell to take an early 1-0 lead.

  • Quinnipiac opened up for four more runs in the fourth and fifth, extending their lead to 9-4.
  • Walker launched a one-out solo shot to left in the fifth to spark the Hawks' rally. Hartfrd scored three runs on a Bardzell single and walks to Ward and senior Nick Campana to cut the Quinnipiac lead to 9-7.
  • After the Bobcats scored two in the top half of the eighth, the Hawks exploded for five runs in the bottom half of the frame. Bardzell, junior Chris Sullivan, and Ward loaded the bases to lead off the inning, setting up sophomore Zachary Ardito who singled to right, driving in Bardzell.
  •  Junior Drew Holtgrieve drove in Sullivan on a sacrifice fly to right field before a DeMartino double to right drove in ward.  Walker ripped the go-ahead RBI single to center to drive in DeMartino and Ardito to give the Hawks the 12-11 win.
