Hartford Ties UW-Green Bay in Season Opener

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Hartford men's soccer team went head-to-head with UW-Green Bay in its season opener on Friday night, as the two teams played to a double-overtime draw at Aldo Santaga Stadium. Senior Xahne Reid netted the Hawks' sole goal in the 24th minute.
 
Both teams move to 0-0-1 with the tie.

  • Hartford dominated in the first half, outshooting Green Bay by a 3-1 margin.
  • Reid scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minute, with an assist from sophomore Nyrik Antoine. Reid also had all three of Hartford's shots in the game.
  • Green Bay came back to outshoot Hartford 7-0 in the second half. Tomer Zloczower netted the equalizer for Green Bay in the 88th minute after trailing Hartford's lead for 64 minutes. 
  • The Hawks and Phoenix went into double overtime with no goals, despite the home team holding a 3-0 advantage in shots throughout the extra periods.
