WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford women's soccer team scored a 2-1 victory against visiting Holy Cross on Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium on Thursday night. The Hawks improve to 4-1 with their second-straight victory, while the Crusaders dip to 1-3 on the season.

Kaila Lozada had a hand in each of the Hawks' two scores, registering one goal and an assist for three points.
HARTFORD 2, HOLY CROSS 1
- After a scoreless first half, a foul inside the box came back to haunt Holy Cross in the 50th minute. Lozada took the honors on the penalty kick and tucked shot into the upper left part of the net to put the Hawks ahead.
- Hartford doubled its lead just over seven minutes later when senior midfielder Hayley Nolan lofted a shot from on top of the box over Holy Cross keeper Sophia Lettieri. Lozada was credited with the assist on the goal, which came in the 87th minute.
- Holy Cross managed to get one goal back on a header from point-blank range by Carly Flahive, but the Hawks clamped down to prevent any chance of a comeback.
HARTFORD NOTES
- Hartford improves to 4-1 through its first five games for the third time in four seasons.
- With the win, the Hawks improve to 12-2-1 all-time against Holy Cross.
- Sophomore Maia Perez made three saves to improve to 4-1.
