EASTON, Pa. — The Hartford women's soccer team found the back of the net twice in the opening minutes of the second half to score a 2-0 victory at Lafayette on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks improve to 5-1 with their third-straight win while the Leopards drop to 3-2 with the defeat.
HARTFORD 2, LAFAYETTE 0
- Less than two minutes into the second half, sophomore Gabriela Gamory scored from point-blank range to give the Hawks a 1-0 advantage with her fourth goal of the season. Junior Kaila Lozada was credited with the assist.
- Just 53 seconds later, senior Julia Carr doubled Hartford's advantage to 2-0 with her first marker of the season.
- The Hawks had a stellar performance on both ends of the pitch, outshooting the Leopards by a 16-0 margin.
HARTFORD NOTES
- Perez moves to 5-1-0 with her second shutout victory of the season. She now has six career clean sheets.
- Hartford improves to 2-0-0 against Lafayette.
- The Hawks remain undefeated in road matches with a 4-0 record.
- Lozada has had a share of three of the Hawks' past four goals, tallying one marker and two assists during that stretch.
