WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hartford men's soccer team fell in double overtime to Niagara on Monday, dropping a 2-1 decision. The Hawks dip to 0-3-1 with the defeat, while the Purple Eagles move to 1-3 for the season.

- Dylan Avila scored the first goal for Niagara in the 52nd minute with an assist from Matt Lopoyda.
- Sophomore Marc Alexander found the back of the net for the equalizer for Hartford in the 79th minute. He headed in the game-tying goal after Sergi Martinez headed a free kick from Mike Balzan in front of the net.
- In the 109th minute, Niagara was awarded a penalty kick. Luca Pacheco took the honors and connected to grant the Purple Eagles the win.
- The Hawks led the Purple Eagles in shots, recording nine on to Niagara's five.
- Sophomore Jovanté Etienne and Martinez led the game with three shots apiece.

The Hawks will be on the road next weekend as they play Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. from Yurcak Field.
