WEST HARTFORD, Conn. —The Hartford men's soccer team saw the longest unbeaten streak in program history get snapped on Saturday, as visiting Vermont defeated the Hawks, 3-0, in America East action. The Catamounts (8-5) improve to 3-1 in the conference, while the Hawks, who rode an 11-game unbeaten streak into the match, fall to 2-1-1 with their first setback in league play.

Junior Jovante Etienne produced the Hawks' best look early in the match, but Vermont keeper Aron Runarsson made the stop for his lone save of the afternoon. The Catamounts capitalized not long after, when Adrian Gahabka sent a through ball to Joe Morrison, who slotted a low shot past Hartford goalkeeper
Jimmy Slayton in the 20th minute.
Vermont struck again one more time before halftime, as Evan Rouleau connected with Frosti Brynjolfsson to make it a 2-0 advantage. Later in the match, the Catamounts extended the lead to three goals on a strike from Brynjolfsson.

- Slayton finished with two saves, including an impressive stop on a point-blank shot from Brynjolfsson in the 55th minute
