Hawks and Seawolves Play to 0-0 Draw in Season Finale

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford women's soccer team battled Stony Brook through extreme wind on a rain-soaked Al-Marzook Field for 110 minutes, but neither team found the back of the net, as both teams' season finale ended in a 0-0 draw.

With the tie, the Hawks (8-6-2) finish conference play as the third seed in the upcoming America East Tournament with a 5-2-1 record. Stony Brook (12-5-1) finishes on top of the league standings with a 6-1-1 record.

HARTFORD 0, STONY BROOK 0 (2ot)
Freshman Victoria Jedrychowski saw what was possibly the best look of the match in the 33rd minute. Playing into the wind, the midfielder fired a shot on target from distance. Stony Brook keeper Sofia Manner got her fingertips on the ball, but nearly tipped it into the back of the net, as the shot was redirected and hit the crossbar.

Each team produced several shot opportunities throughout the remainder of the match, but was unable to capitalize. Hartford had chances late, but Manner came up with a huge deflection on a point-blank header by senior Bridgette Alexander in the 88th minute. On the ensuing corner kick, the Hawks produced two more looks, but the Seawolves' defense blocked the first shot before Manner stopped the second.
