ROCHESTER, Mich. — Sophomore Hunter Marks finished with a double-double as the Hartford men's basketball team dropped a 60-50 decision to Oakland on Monday night. The Hawks fall to 3-2 on the year while the Golden Grizzlies improve to 4-2.
 
OAKLAND 60, HARTFORD 50
Oakland would start the game hot as they jumped out to an early 8-0 lead. Marks would lead the way early for Hartford, scoring the team's first six points of the night. The Golden Grizzlies would extend their lead, leading by as much as 18 in the first half. The Hawks would cut the lead to 15 as they entered the halftime break down, 34-19. Marks would finish the first half with eight points.
 
Hartford would battle back in the second half and would cut the lead to nine after D.J. Mitchell knocked down a three with 11 minutes remaining in the second half. The Hawks would then use an 8-2 run to cut the lead to as little as five points with a 1:57 left on the clock. The Golden Grizzlies would prevent Hartford from scoring any further as they closed out the game on a 5-0 run to hold on for the 60-50 victory. Marks finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds for his first career double-double

• Traci Carter had a career-high six steals
• Carter also lead the Hawks in assists with four
• The Hawks forced the Golden Grizzlies to shoot 18.8% from beyond the arc
• Xavier Hill-Mais led Oakland with a game-high 17 points
