WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Senior
Jenna Bridges tied the program's all-time block assists record and the program's rally-scoring solo blocks record in a straight set win over Binghamton to celebrate Senior Day on Sunday afternoon at the Hartford Volleyball Gym. With the win, the Hawks improved to 13-11 on the season and 4-3 in the America East, while the Bearcats fell to 0-20 on the season and 0-7 in conference play with the loss.
HARTFORD 3, BINGHAMTON 0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-6)
SET ONE: Hartford jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, before Binghamton cut the lead to 14-11. The Hawks responded by closing the set with an 11-4 run, led by six kills from
Abby Nash and five kills from Bridges.
SET TWO: The Hawks built up an early 7-2 lead that it would not relinquish in the set. The Bearcats cut it as close as 11-8, but Hartford held on for the 25-15 set win. Bridges led the way in the set with eight kills on nine attempts, while senior
Nicole Etta added two service aces to secure the set win.
SET THREE: The Hawks maintained momentum, jumping out to an early 6-0 lead behind three kills from Bridges before Binghamton called a timeout. Hartford pushed its lead to as high as 15-3 in the set before cruising to the 25-6 set win.
HARTFORD NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Bridges tallied two solo blocks to tie Teri Connolly's ('96) program record of 65 career solo blocks … Bridges also tied Bianca Feldkoetter's ('95) program-record 280 career block assists in the win … Bridges led the way with a game-high 18 kills …
Megan Anderson compiled a game-high 29 assists.
