Anderson Tallies 44 Assists in Volleyball's Four Set Loss at UAlbany

ALBANY, N.Y. — Senior Jenna Bridges delivered a game-high 20 kills and Megan Anderson tallied a game-high 44 assists in the Hartford volleyball team's loss at UAlbany in four sets in an America East contest on Friday evening. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 13-12 on the season and 4-4 in the America East, while the Great Danes improve to 12-10 on the season and 7-1 in conference play with the win.
 
UALBANY 3, HARTFORD 1 (25-21, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22)
 
SET ONE: UAlbany jumped out to an early 12-5 lead and never looked back, stretching its lead to as much as 18-11. The Hawks were able to cut it to as close as 23-21 before the Great Danes took the final two points to seal the set win.
 
SET TWO: With the set tied at 12-12, the Hawks went on a 4-0 run to take a 16-12 lead. After the Great Danes tied the contest at 22-22, the two sides trades points to a 24-24 tie. However, back-to-back attack errors allowed UAlbany to steal the set.
 
SET THREE: Tied at 11-11, the Hawks used a 7-2 run to take an 18-13 lead that they would not relinquish. UAlbany cut it to as close as 22-20, but Hartford closed the set with three-straight points. Bridges led the way with six kills in the set.
 
SET FOUR: The Great Danes hit .367 in the third set en route to the set win. Tied at 20-20, back to-back Hartford attack errors allowed UAlbany to take a 22-20 lead in the set. Despite consecutive kills from Abby Nash to tie the set at 22-22, the Great Danes took the next three points to secure the match win.
 
HARTFORD NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Bridges pushed her career kill total to 1,393 after recording 20+ kills for the seventh time this season … Abby Nash added 14 kills … Anderson compiled 44 assists … Charlotte Macken led UAlbany with 16 kills.
