NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Hartford men's golf team heads to Yale and Sacred Heart this weekend for its final tune-ups before the Big Sky Championship. The Hawks will first play two rounds at the Yale Spring Open on Saturday beginning at 7:20 a.m., before they head to the Sacred Heart Invitational for two more rounds on Sunday and Monday.

- Sophomore Eric Evans, who posted three top-15 finishes during Hartford's fall slate, enters this weekend's tournaments with a team-best 73.14 scoring average
- Making more than a three-stroke improvement from his rookie campaign, Evans' stroke average this season is currently the fourth-best mark in program history
- Junior Elias Gross shot an even-par 216 to lead Hartford with a 12th-place finish at the FAU Spring Championship last month, while Evans was the Hawks' second finisher (t-42nd) with a 4-over 220
- Gross currently ranks second on the team with a 74.73 stroke average

The Hawks head to Boudler Creek, Nev., for the Big Sky Championship. The three-day event, which determines the conference's individual and team automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament, begins on Friday, April 26, at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
