WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — First-year head coach
Morgan Valley has announced the complete 2019-20 schedule for the Hartford women's basketball team. The 29-game slate includes 14 dates inside Reich Family Pavilion.
The Hawks will not shy away from competition in year one of the Valley Era. Nearly half of Hartford's 13 non-conference opponents made postseason appearances in either the NCAA Tournament or the WNIT in 2019.

"This year's non-conference slate consists of a culmination of competitive regional opponents, along with several other teams from outside our area," said Valley. "I am confident that our challenging out-of-league slate, which includes three opponents that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season, will benefit us in preparing our young team for a very tough America East Conference schedule."
Hartford opens the campaign with its longest homestand of the season, a weeklong stretch that features three home games. The Hawks tip off the new season against Hofstra on Nov. 6, before hosting URI (Nov. 10) and WNIT Sweet 16 team Providence (Nov. 13).
Following opening week, Hartford hits the road for seven of its next eight contests, beginning with back-to-back stops in Massachusetts to face UMass (Nov. 17) and Harvard (Nov. 22). The road trip continues with a stop at Michigan State on Nov. 24, as Hartford looks to avenge last year's overtime defeat to the Spartans, who advanced to the Round of 32 in last season's NCAA Tournament.
A quick turnaround lands the Hawks in Williamsburg, Va., to take on William & Mary for the second straight season on Nov. 26. Hartford then caps off its longest road stretch of the season at Penn, marking the second of three WNIT opponents on the slate for Hartford in 2019-20. The first-ever meeting between the Hawks and the Quakers is scheduled for Dec. 2.
After 23 days away from West Hartford, the Hawks make a quick stop home to host NJIT on Dec. 7, before they return to the road for two more contests against Princeton (Dec. 10), an NCAA Tournament team in 2019, and Northeastern (Dec. 14), which appeared in the WNIT last season.
The final stretch of non-conference play brings Hartford back inside Reich Family Pavilion to face a pair of in-state rivals. After hosting neighboring foe CCSU on Dec. 21, the Hawks conclude their out-of-league schedule by hosting defending MAAC Champion and NCAA Tournament team Quinnipiac on Dec. 29.
The New Year also brings in the start of the America East Conference play, which lands the Hawks on the road for their first two contests. A rematch of last year's America East Championship game is first on the docket, as Hartford treks to Maine on Jan. 2, before it heads to New Hampshire to battle the Wildcats three days later.
The Hawks begin their eight-game home conference slate on Jan. 8, when they welcome UMass Lowell to Reich Family Pavilion. Hartford also play hosts Vermont (Jan. 18) and UAlbany (Jan. 25) during the opening month of America East action.
The month of February begins with consecutive home dates, including a visit from defending league champion Maine on Feb. 1, and a clash with UMBC on Feb. 5. Following three road games, Hartford closes out the regular season at home against New Hampshire (Feb. 19), Binghamton (Feb. 22) and Stony Brook (Feb. 26).
Season tickets are on sale now beginning at $79, ensuring guaranteed entry to all 14 Hawks regular-season home games and priority reservations for America East Playoff tickets. To purchase season tickets, click

Valley, who was welcomed as the ninth coach in program history last April, inherits a team that is coming off three straight winning seasons, including back-to-back America East Championship appearances. The Hawks look to build off a 2018-19 campaign that saw the program post the most wins since 2009-10 with 23, in addition to making its first postseason tournament appearance (WNIT) since 2012-13.
