SMITHFIELD, R.I. —The Hartford volleyball team downed Bryant in straight sets on Tuesday in non-conference action at Chace Athletic Center. The Hawks improve to 8-7 with their third-straight win, while the Bulldogs fall to 5-11 overall.
 
Senior 
Jenna Bridges, who was named the America East Player of the Week today, hit .588 on 11 kills and one error to pace the offense. 
 
HARTFORD, BRYANT (25-18, 26-24, 25-15)
	- SET ONE:A dominant start allowed Hartford to build a quick seven-point advantage at 11-4. The Hawks continue to control the game, pushing ahead by as many as nine points to coast to the victory.  
- SET TWO:The Hawks trailed early, but used four straight points to erase a 15-14 deficit and take an 18-15 lead. Hartford, which pulled ahead by as many as four, gained set point at 24-22, but Bryant came back to tie up the score. The Hawks took care of business down the stretch, as a Nash kill and a Megan Anderson service ace sealed the win.
	- SET THREE: Five early kills, including two apiece from junior Abby Nash and Bridges, provided the Hawks with an early 11-4 cushion. Hartford continued to push ahead, building a 16-8 advantage. The Bulldogs made things interesting with a 6-1 spurt to close the gap to three, but the Hawks ended the match with authority, firing off a 7-0 run to seal the match.
- HARTFORD NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Nash registered a match-high 12 kills, while Anderson, the reigning Setter of the Week, dished out 37 assists … Bridges added four blocks … the Hawks held a 6-0 advantage in blocks and outhit the Bulldogs, .357 to .155.
