LOWELL, Mass. —Senior Sierra Stone found the back of the net midway through overtime to propel the Hartford women's soccer team past UMass Lowell, 2-1, in America East action on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks (4-5-1) improve to 1-1 in the conference with the win, while UMass Lowell (1-7-1) falls to 0-1.
 
HARTFORD 2, UMASS LOWELL 1 ot
Karah Fleet headed home a cross from Lily Fabian in the 21st minute, but Hartford made it a new game less just 96 seconds before halftime when sophomore Izzy Lachcik put the finishing touches on a corner kick serve from Stone for her third goal in as many games. Junior goalkeeper Maia Perez would come up with a big save for Hartford right before the end of the half to preserve the tie at the break.
 
Senior Kaila Loada nearly put the Hawks ahead just 30 seconds into the second half after seeing her shot on hit the near post. Later in the stanza in the 57th minute, UMass Lowell keeper Anerans Tijm rejected another potential go-ahead tally on a direct kick by Stone from 20 yards out. After going without a score for the rest of regulation, Stone delivered the game-winner after connecting on a feed from classmate Skylar Vitiello in the 95th minute.

• Perez finished the match with five saves, while Tijm registered a game-best six stops for the River Hawks
• The two sides combined for 24 shots, 13 of which came from UMass Lowell
• The River Hawks also held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks
