Baseball Drops Saturday Road Contest at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Tim Dickson led the Hawks with two hits, as Hartford baseball fell to The Citadel on the road, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

With the loss the Hawks fell to 5-4 on the season, while The Citadel improved to 10-3 with the win.

The Bulldogs struck first, pushing a run across the plate in the first and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Citadel added to its lead with three runs in the sixth, followed by a run apiece in the seventh and eight innings, eventually holding on for the 7-0 win over Hartford.

 NEWS AND NOTES
  • Dickson led the offense, going 2-for-4 in the loss 
  • Jackson Olson and Drew DeMartino added a hit apiece
  • Devin Kellogg drew two walks in the contest
  • Nathan Florence got the start and took the loss after giving up three earned runs and striking out two in 5.2 innings of work
