Men's Soccer Ties with UMass Lowell, 0-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford men's soccer team battled with UMass Lowell to a scoreless draw on Monday afternoon. Freshman Rotem Fadida tallied three saves to keep his third shutout of the season. Hartford moved to 3-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play while UMass Lowell move to 0-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the conference.
 
HARTFORD 0, UMASS LOWELL 0 (2ot)
Hartford controlled the opening portion of the game, dominating possession. The Hawks had a great chance to take an early lead in the 8th minute as sophomore Alec Boyd's header from a corner kick rattled off the crossbar. Fadida was called into action in the 22nd minute as he saved a shot down to his left to keep the River Hawks off of the scoreboard. The two sides continued to find the opener, but the game remained scoreless entering the halftime break.
 
Neither team was able to muster an opportunity to break the deadlock as the game entered overtime tied at 0-0. Pablo Basarte came up with a great defensive play in the 92nd minute, clearing the ball off of the goal line to keep the game from ending. The River Hawks would continue to dominate the opening overtime stanza, forcing Fadida into making another great save in the 96th minute. Entering the second overtime period, the Hawks almost found the game-winner as Nadav Datner and Sergi Martinez both saw their efforts be saved by the UMass Lowell goalkeeper. Neither team could break the deadlock as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
