HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half that saw the field tilt heavily in favor of the Hawks with a 7-3 shot advantage, Drimmer put Hartford on the board in the 55th minute. The senior converted on a free kick from just outside the box in a man-up advantage, which was granted to the Hawks after Holy Cross' goalkeeper received a red card for handing the ball outside of the box.

The Hawks kept the Crusaders off the board until Evan Jones scored on a breakaway goal to knot the contest at 1-1 in the 82nd minute. Both sides had opportunities at the net late, but neither converted to force overtime.

Twenty minutes of extra time was not enough to declare a winner, as the two sides played to a 1-1 draw. Hartford had the better of play during that stretch, holding a 2-0 edge in shots, but was unable to find the golden goal.
